ANOTHER REASON TO GET LIFE INSURANCE

A story was given in the Salt Lake Tribune in the section called Utah Voices. The Title “Unexpected death happens; be prepared” pin points the importance of Life Insurance, Wills and other financial responsibilities, all of which we offer at Wealth Masters.

The author: Shelley Swenson Robinson

Abbr. Story.

Her husband was a runner/biker and a positive happy man. He was also successful in his career. Two weeks after running eight miles and feeling at the top of his game, developed stomach cancer and passed away shortly after. A few weeks after his death Shelley was down to her last bit of money they had saved over the years, then finally, his life insurance policy payed out. How grateful she was to see that check and for ultimately making the decision to purchase life insurance.

Three years later she is still trying to sell the “Dream” home that is in danger of foreclosure because the life insurance money is running out. She is sympathetic towards those that have to go through this without life insurance. So she gives five important things to talk about with your spouse and loved ones.

1. Have “the conversation”: “Do we have life insurance; is it enough?” “where are the policies?” “Is there a will; is it up to date?”

2. Keep all documents, insurance policies, wills, financial and tax records in a safe place, and make sure both of you know where they are.

3. Put both of your names on checking and savings accounts, safety deposit boxes and investment accounts.

4. Get the mortgage insurance.

5. Don’t assume this can’t happen to you.

One last quote that she gives to readers. “My hope is that this cautionary tale will help save other survivors from going through what I have.”

Special thanks to Salt Lake Tribune and Shelley Swenson Robinson of St. George, Ut.
